Crews from the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company were called to Joppatowne High School at approxiamtely 2 p.m. on Tuesdayay 16, where students and staff evacuated after a fire was reported, sending smoke through parts of the building.
Officials said that fire sprinklers knocked down most of the flames, and responding firefighters were able to finish the job and begin ventilating the building of the smoke.
No injuries were reported.
The Maryland Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate the incident and determine a cause and origin of the fire.
